  • Not the same as layed out in the city's written plan. If you are given a choice between paying $50 for a ticket or $100 knowing full well that you are going to end up paying which would you volunteer to pay?

The Superfund designation is a proven quagmire at full cost.
  • and its always better to pay later.

Your stockholders and board of directors can't see past the next quarter.
    ...and your bonus/employment is current.

I think the developer greed really could have worked in the community's favor this time. But b/c of Atlantic Yards, 4th Avenue, the disgusting Feder's condos all over the place, we're all so f'ing angry and disgusted at Bloomberg-enabled developers right now, we can't even think straight about this stuff anymore.

But, hey, we showed those greedy developers this time, didn't we! We're gonna keep raising our kids alongside a post-industrial toxic waste site for at least another 20 years just to spite them. Looking forward to this summer's crop of vicious, baby-eating Gowanus Mosquitoes.

So you're saying that after we have been burned by the greed of Bloomberg enabled-developers (and don't forget the incredibly corrupt Dept of Buildings), that we were wrong to distrust them and things were going to be different with Gowanus? Show me an instance in Brooklyn where this greed benefited Brooklyn.

Perhaps if they were upfront and TRUSTWORTHY during the past decade or so, we might not have rejected their ideas out of hand. The toxic site has been there for decades already, at this point what's another 30 years.

I'm sorry but you are wrong on this point.
