NOISE and more ridiculous NOISE
I hope I don't have to make this a crusade but I should be able to sit in my backyard without it sounding like a nightclub. I just called 77th precint to complain about the INCREDIBLY lound music playing from the corner of Lincoln Place and New York Avenue. If anyone else is online, please call the precinct at 718-735-0611. If you can hear it and don't call tonight, please call tomorrow and say it bothered you, if it did that is.

I try to cut folks a little bit of slack with respect to parties in the backyards. Mainly because I'd rather have them hosting a party in their back yard than in the front yard and on the sidewalk and street.
Its tough because sometimes you just want to chill, and there is a party going full blast down the block, but as long as the speakers aren't up too loud and its an occasional thing, I take the loss.
I 'll usually hold off on calling the cops unless it gets very late (2-3am) and the music hasn't abated. -
Sorry, that last post was me...

I agree with this. I make noise sometimes myself so I don't call the cops when people are playing a radio outside at night unless it's really late and really loud.

The problem I've been having is with the house down the street where they set up a PA system in the backyard. It sounds like it's right in my bedroom and the don't stop until after 3. -

Parties are cool for awhile but they have no right to intrude on folks privacy for extended periods of time. The 77th pct. has declared excessive noise a major quality of life issue in North Crown Heights and is vigorously enforcing the sound abuse laws, according to our block president, Al Shepherd. -

It was 10pm. How is that intruding on folks privacy? The 77th pct. will respond to noise complaints but is that as important as the homicide investigations that are going on? -

Coming online and asking people to call the police and lie on your behalf, we'll now, isn't that, like umm cheating? Dishonost?

Bojolais specifically said to call the police if it bothered you. No prevarication was solicited. -
This was not some little backyard barbeque with the stereo up too loud. It was so loud my floors were vibrating INSIDE my house with my A/C full blast. It went on till 2am.. I didn't complain until midnight.
It is unfair to subject the entire block to one's raging party all night long, heaven forbid if I actually wanted to sit outside in my own backyard during this event.
They had seven foot speakers.... -
Ever notice all the nasty comments come from a "guest". If you are so into Karma, Karma, Karma, Karma, why don't you use your name instead of just insulting me.

I've said it many times before about "guest" posts being the most inflammatory. Logging in should be mandatory.

not like you, guesty; you only complain about people's complaints.
oh, and it's "music has charms to soothe the savage breast", not beast. congrove. -
hey guys, do us a favor - if you see a troll-ish guest post, please send a mod a PM and we'll take care of it. feeding the troll makes it more difficult to handle their posts. I know, it's hard to hold back sometimes. I've been guilty of it myself
