Liberty Of London at Target

All the staff probably horded it. No kidding,

I go there when I have to, I always come home with half the shit i need because they are no badly stocked.

Flexi.. I agree. I don't hate Target..but just the Brooklyn experience of it. When I shop with daughter in Massachusetts I can get in to it. The whole Atlantic mall is such an unpleasant shopping experience.

I find that the Target at Gateway Plaza is always better stocked and better serviced. Never been to the one out on Flatbush Aveneue at the junction.

I agree that the Atlantic Center Target is really badly stocked. Sometimes they are out of entire categories of things - like they won't have any paper towels at all.

But back to the original post regarding the Liberty of London stuff...that line is really cute and they promoted it pretty heavily, so I'm not surprised. Target set up one of their "pop up shops" across the street from Bryant Park for the Liberty line, and it also was almost all sold out the first day. Since the Pop Up shop would have had nothing to do with the Atlantic Center location, I don't think this can be blamed on their incompetence.

Maybe you can get the stuff online ? I had my eye on the peacock feather pillow, the watering cans, and even those printed plastic chairs.

Also... about this Liberty of London thing. Folks know that they will restock it right? I really don't get this eBay or hording activities (though, I'm sure it's true). It would be the same as if i went to target and bought all of their tennis balls... more will show up in a few days.

Its a limited edition kind of thing, hence the frenzy. I checked the Target website about an hour ago, and the items I wanted were all out of stock.

Because they want to add your name and address to their mailing list for general marketing purposes.

Umm, I went there on Sunday afternoon, the day the stuff came out, and most of it was gone.

I go to that Target about 2x a year, and I always leave feeling that it was a mistake. The inventory is just ridiculous. I needed to buy soap. The health and beauty section was no more than half stocked. Shelf after shelf was half empty. I ended up with something I could use, but not with what I wanted to buy. Don't go to that Target expecting to leave with what you came in to get.

I have to say, after reading the near-universal dislike of the Atlantic Target expressed in multiple threads, I've never had a huge problem with stock issues at this Target. I wonder if it is a function of when I go (almost never on a weekend, usually a Tues/Wed/Thurs evening) or that I just buy different stuff from you all or what. But unless I'm buying something that is on sale that week, or something that is seasonal, I feel like it is usually stocked. And if it isn't on the shelf, I've had good results asking someone for it. I have other issues with them (checkout lines, early fitting room closure, electronics), but - well, it isn't as awesome as the suburban stores I've visited, but it gets the job done for me generally.

I actually don't have major problems with it, either. When I go, I go on weekends early (before 10). I have found it to be hell in the afternoon. Yes, there are some issues with products being out of stock - in my experience the worst time is after the holidays and I avoid them between Christmas and New Year for that reason.

I go there mainly for cat food (I get the expensive dry stuff from the pet food store, but my cats are also fond of wet Meow Mix which I have only been able to find at Target), cleaning items, paper goods, and occasionally clothes. Sometimes I buy frozen dinners there as well.

Even when they are out of stock on some things, it's not that annoying to me because they're a 5 minute walk from my house so it's not like I have to invest much time and effort to go there.

I have seen mice there twice, though.

If you want to see a badly stocked store with horrible lines, check out my local Walgreen's at Atlantic and 3rd. To add insult to injury, they lock everything up (bodywash? really??!!). Target is heaven compared to Walgreen's.
