WE HAVE........6 DAYS LEFT..........UNTIL SPRING.!!!!!!
GOT UP LATE THIS MORNING....ON MY FIRST CUP OF COFFEE.
CATCH UP A LITTLE LATER -
Morning Everyone
The house began to twitch, the room to pitch...
What a wild and wet and crazy weekend. The tree in front of my house split down the middle - it's across my driveway and my neighbors - what a mess. The firemen came and cut down the branches. As soon as they left another piece split off - what's left standing is holding on by a prayer. One small breeze and it's a gonner! My lights flickered but I didn't lose them for more than 10mins.
Paul - did you clean up your mess? Terry you're up and running now, Suzie how about you - Joe you ok. Seems like mid-island lost power. Just huge trees down, lots of roof shingles and lots of other stuff. Judy you have lights now? What a mess!!
Terry - what time's dinner - there's nothing like a steak!!
All in all - I'm glad we're all OK.
Later. -
Old Goat in FL wrote: [quote=Suzie][quote=Old Goat in FL][quote=Suzie]Hi Warren ....It was Laura's Husband .....they lived across the street from me
Thanks Suzie. Debbie's Aunt Emma was married to a fellow named Zmijewski. Emma is one of the Brown girls whose family we knew well. We always marveled at the fact that one of the "Brown" girls married someone with a long name like Zmijewski. Debbie's Aunt Lucille married Walter Zwizewick (sp) so two Brown girls REALLY had name changes!!!
Zmijewski was her maiden name ...Her Mom is Eleanor
OMG ...I might be wrong ...her name could be Emma. She had a sister
that lived upstairs .....and her last name was Wiacek (her husband was Victor)
I think!
Hey Suzie, the last I heard Emma was living in NJ and Lucille was in Long Island. Emma & Lucille did sing in the 12th Street Reformed Church choir along with me, my two brothers and my sister.
EMMA IS 88 YRS OLD LUCILLE ???? EMMA IS IN NJ WITH LAURA AND JOHANNA HER DAUGHTERS. It was Laura's husband who Passed away at the age of 57. Yes The brown girls. the brown family.
When we got the call we thought Emma had passed. thinking she is 88, never thought John at 57 yrs old.
I am writing before reading everything. Been off the computer for almost 2 days so have alot to catch up on.
Debbie and Laura are cousins. Marion (bunny) her Mom was Mi Mi and she worked in Aarons for years on 5th avenue. (can not remember her real name MIMI) bunny's Mom. I think Emma and Mimi were sisters. -
Paul Giglio wrote: Had some damage to the house yesterday also. Pretty
lucky no one was hurt. The house was attacked by my
neighbors trampoline. The wind picked up this 20 foot
round trampoline, sent it airborne between the two houses,
as it hit and took out a few sections of the fence, the bottom
support rails and steel tubing just exploded sending these
steel tubes air
borne. It was really freaky to see afterwards
with all these spears sticking in lawns, what was left of
the trampoline was on his car and my fence all over the street.
One of the tubes came crashing through our bedroom window,
that and these spears falling out of the sky is why I say lucky no
one was hurt.
PAUL THANK GOD YOUR GRANDKIDS, WERE NOT NEAR THE WINDOW,OR ANYONE ELSE.!!
Anyway, have a goodnight, bunch a WET mushy basteds! -
