Web Site Idea — Brooklynian

Web Site Idea

I'm thinking of putting together a website where people can post any deals/sales they are aware of in NYC, with the ability to search by borough, nabe, and category. Possible entries might be a T-shirt sale at H&M, double coupons at a local grocery store, or a permanent good deal like a $2.00 breakfast somewhere. I already have most of the necessary code sitting around from another site I was playing with. Does anyone know if something like this already exists?

  • I've seen a lot of websites for deals (fatwallet.com, etc.), but none on a level that local and none that include food.

    craigslist?
  • I haven't seen a section on CL where people are sharing frugality-related info like local sales, discounts etc. Is there one?
  • there's sales listings for sure - Time Out, New York mag, etc
and MUG (Manhattan Users Guide) has a similar feature
and there's those free drinks scavengers - I forget the name because I'm not a 20 year old looking for free booze!

    good luck with your thing
  • Personally, I like http://samplesale.com/. 8)

wow, that site's actually kinda hard to navigate.

It would be cool if there was a good site that organized sales and things and also listed other sites that do it. Most of the sites I go to end up like lame lists and are not user friendly, so I just get frustrated and close the page.

i think its www.myopenbar.com, however I've never used it (so far), because by the time it came about, I'm in my respectable mid-to-late 20s.
