Apartment is on the top floor (rear) of a 3-story 1930's brownstone. On the edge of prospect heights, at Dean street and Nostrand ave. Close to A/C trains and 2/3 trains, B65 bus stops outside (10 mins to 5th Ave Park Slope)
S train at franklin ave a few blocks distant. Laundry, supermarkets, post office all very near. Super convenient. 15 mins walk or cycle to Park Slope and Prospect Park.

Apartment door opens from top floor landing into the living room area - approx 12 foot square with two windows overlooking the rear of the building to Nostrand Ave
Nice period fireplace, stripped wood floors. Very warm and sunny

Separate tiny kitchen with stainless sink, full size fridge/freezer, gas stove/oven

Separate bathroom with shower over bath, sink, toilet - all nicely tiled floor and all around walls in neutral shades - roof vent for fresh air

Separate small bedroom with built in wardrobe and parquet flooring. Can fit a bed and side table and that's about all.

Unfurnished.

Landlord pays heat and water.

  • Obviously this will be moved to another forum, but as one landlord to another, you might want to tighten up your wording to avoid inadvertently violating anti-discrimination laws. Craiglist had a nice description of the issues: "A posting is also discriminatory if it uses language that might be discouraging towards a certain protected category. For instance, saying that a particular apartment is "perfect for a single or couple" could be discouraging towards families with children, who do not fit within the stated groups. Please note that unintentionally discriminatory postings are still illegal."
  • exactly. just post the square footage. that will be clear enough that the apt is small. no need to use preference.
  • Also -- don't call it "on the edge of Prospect Heights" when it's 3/4 of a mile from Prospect Heights!!!

    It's called Crown Heights! Be proud and honest. This isn't earning you any points with prospective tenants. So ridiculous. Why didn't you just say it was on the edge of Park Slope?
