Need an electrician

Looking for an electrician to fix a couple of table lamps and possibly install a ceiling fan or two. Someone local who does quality work without charging a small fortune would be ideal.

Any recommendations?

I don't have any recommendations, but I will say that neither of the two tasks that you've mentioned are particularly difficult - there's a TON of how-to stuff online. I've done ceiling fans, lights, switches, additional outlets... don't let the fear of combustion and convulsions discourage you.

whyfi speaks the truth. I'm now back to work full time, but nothing you are describing is above what your super might be willing to do.

Assuming the ceiling fans are new in box, not super complicated/deluxe, and the ceiling light box is strong enough to hold it up there ...the fans should run you a max of $60 each to install.

Table lamps are something you could easily do on your own, $10 in parts each.

You can not hook up a ceiling fan to a regular box!! The ceiling fans are to heavy and they will shake like crazy. Have to use a bracket attached to the beams. So this job is def. not $60. If your replacing an existing ceiling fan where you do not need the bracket probably cost you like $75 and if you do need the bracket, meaning there was no ceiling fan there it will run like $125. And the lamps are an easy fix, can not see anyone really charging you for them if they are already doing the fan. Im a NYC handyman, i work all over. If you need any help, mike 917-815-3387
