Crab Pickings
The Minnow’s Blue Crab Festival. Run sideways, don’t walk, to this Park Slope seafood fest.
By Rob Patronite & Robin Raisfeld

Start practicing your wooden-mallet swing. Chef Aaron Bashy brings in the best of the Chesapeake Bay this weekend with his annual crab boil. Thirty dollars ($15 for kids) gets you a slew of fresh blue crabs boiled in Brooklyn Lager, corn on the cob, black-eyed-pea and potato salads, watermelon, and funnel cake.
July 23 and 24; 442 Ninth St., at Seventh Ave., Park Slope, Brooklyn; 718-832-5500 for details.

Yup. It's the 15th, 22nd & 23rd (and maybe the 29th & 30th) - I half glanced at one of the many signs in the window last night. But if the quality of this event has gone down anywhere near as much as the rest of their food (which sucks compared with what the original Minnow on 9th was like) I for one will not be attending.
  • last year was so crowded that if you didn't get there hours before it began you couldn't get in.

(i, for one, love the lobster roll at minnow, but like to eat it at bar minnow because it's not noisy at all)
