Child's Play NY has opened spring and summer registration for acting workshops for kids age 4-10.

For ages 4-6: In the spring and summer "Story Play" workshops, children interpret characters, tell stories and connect with their intuitive ability to make-believe. Children's literature provides the springboard for improvisation and fantasy play. In the summer sessions there are exciting concentrations in dance, music, film and Spanish. Techniques of acting as well as specific voice and movement work are an integral part of the curriculum.

For ages 6-10: During week-long summer sessions from June 28 to August 27, budding artists immerse themselves in various performing arts intensives such as Shakespeare, Play Writing, Musicals, and Acting for the Camera.
Child's Play NY offers young people the opportunity to explore and perform theater and in doing so builds confidence, compassion and creativity.

Price ranges from $275 to $400 depending on the session

The 10-week spring session is held in Carroll Gardens at the Area Yoga studio on 320 Court Street from 3:25-4:25 on Tuesdays from April 13th to June 15th.
The summer sessions run from June 28th to August 27 at Area Yoga and Packer Collegiate Institute, 170 Jorolemon Street in Brooklyn Heights, 11201.

Child's Play NY is run by Jocelyn Greene acting teacher at the Packer Collegiate Institute and the Berkeley Carroll School. During summer sessions she is joined by guest teachers: Broadway musical theater actors, filmmakers, dancers, etc who share their passions and expertise with the campers.

    Child's Play NY was an amazing course for my daughter! Rather than watching her favorite DVDs all day, she had a true outlet for her imagination and her love to make believe. Jocelyn is terrific- intelligent, passionate, and fun. Basically everything a teacher should be. My daughter could not stop talking about the class and will undoubtedly return!
