Help, please: Sick cat! Affordable cat clinic?

Is there a good nearby cat or pet clinic that's affordable? I'm down in Carroll Gardens, and I need a really affordable vet with a background of good trustworthy care, and doesn't load me with fees. I've heard that place on Atlantic is good but expensive.

Does anyone know of a good place to look at?

    Yeah, Hope Vet on Atlantic is really good and gets many great reviews, but pricey.

    I'm in the same boat as you and when I needed to take the cat in at Park Slope Vet on 413 5th ave. The car service isn't that much and it was worth it for me. Tell them your situation and they'll go over any tests or meds beforehand to make sure you can afford it or want to have them done. Plus they have a payment plan option. Super nice people too and took care of my very temperamental cat with ease.

    Call Prospect Park Animal Clinic / Dr. Silverman and be upfront about your budget. They're not necessarily cheap, but they're the most compassionate and best veterinary clinic we've ever used (and still use); they might have a sliding scale.

    Does the Humane Society here have vet care for the public? If so I imagine it would be as good as you can get on prices for legit care. I would check with them and possibly the ASPCA. I know they aren't local, but you can take a cat on the subway in a carrier and if you have the time the prices are probably a lot better than private practices.
