Customer service shout out — Brooklynian

Customer service shout out

We've been going to Randex Cleaners on the corner of Sixth Avenue and Fifth Street for years. I've always found the woman who works the counter to be quite lovely.

The other week when I picked up our dry cleaning it was accompanied by an envelope filled with cash that my wife had left in a pocket. It wasn't a lot of money and we probably would have never missed it, but I just wanted to give a shout out to their honesty and exemplary customer service.

Thanks Randex!

  • I lived a few houses up from Randex up until recently and second this endorsement. Mr. and Ms. Han are wonderful people who happen to run a good laundry as well.
  • Third this -- when I moved here, it took a few months trying different cleaners in the neighborhood. Been with Randex since I first gave them clothes to clean. Never a complaint, and the husband and wife that run the place couldn't be nicer.
  • Completely agree! I started going there because of the organic cleaning (now of course almost all the cleaners are organic) but I keep going there because they are so nice.
  • I used to live just down the street from them - oneonone I think we were neighbors - and now that I've moved six blocks away, I will not bring my dry cleaning or tailoring anywhere else. They ROCK.
  • nice! always let your shopkeepers/cleaners know you appreciate them. these are hard times, and sometimes a customer's kind words gives you that little incentive you need to keep going.
    keep park slope colorful!
  • "Customer service shout out" - this should be a regular feature on the board.
  • I'll give another shout out.

Brooklyn Bicycles on 9th St. Pulled my bike out after a long winters nap and my tire and tube were ruined. BF and dog were waiting to the head the park so I walked to BB and was immediately helped. I think I was there maybe 15 minutes while they changed it out and answered my questions about helmets. Fast and all of the staff seemed knowledgeable and friendly.
  • Shout out to Picada y Vino which is the little wineshop on 5th ave between 4-5th sts (near the gate.) While I don't go there very often because their under $15 selection is small, the owner and staff are super friendly and helpful.
  • Second on Brooklyn Bicycles: I try to buy most of my indoor/outdoor cycling gear there.

Also Park Slope Pharmacy on 8th Avenue and 8th Street. The owner, Brian, is a prince of a guy and really cares about his customers.
  • I second the pharmacy on 8th and 8th...went to drop off an RX for my daughter one morning on my way to work, and he wasn't open yet, but had just arrived to unlock. I asked him when he'd be able to take my RX, and he took it right there, asked for my daughter's birthdate, and sent me on my way. Had it ready for me that evening ,and was just so pleasant. He also is incredibly nice to my (sometimes difficult) parents who spend an lot of time in there.
  • I have to give a shout out to the pharmacy on 5th avenue between 7th & 8th Street - the pharmacist is wonderful and makes the time to answer all your questions

Having a shout out in the server, they can make a way that you got a surprise them because you don't expect for that services. Maybe you could trust the services, so they can please you.

That ^, my dear idiot spammer with an IP address from the Philippines, was awesome.

    Don't understand a word of it. But I LOL'd.

    That would be SLOPE DRUGS.
    Owner and pharmacist..AJ.

    Just the very best.
  • Thanks Veets - I never know the name of the store but AJ is awesome

Speaking of Picada y Vino... they have a great BYOB arrangement with Get Fresh. Get Fresh provides a menu with a small selection of their wine, the restaurant calls in the order, and your wine is delivered within a few minutes. Great arrangement for those of us that don't know it's BYOB at Get Fresh.
  • ^^^Ditto. Shout out to Get Fresh too. Excellent service & the food is delish.
  • Shout out to Stitch Therapy Brooklyn - I'm a beginner at knitting - I took the beginner class, went to a few knitting circles, and just go in when I need help (which is often). Love Maxcine and think the store is a great fit with Brooklyn Mercantile (shout out to them as well)
  • Maxcine is awesome! Patterns are like a foreign language to me and I hate following them. She showed me how to make simple beanie type hats without a pattern, I think I made about 30 of them!
  • I need a beanie hat!

Shout out to Shawn's Liquors because the people who work behind the register there are awesome, especially one chick who is into cats :flower:
  • Shout out to Emma at Beastly Bite on 7th, she's a total sweetheart and a real animal lover. Unfortunately the owners don't realize how good she is for the store.

Another shout out to Palma Chemists on 7th and Garfield, I can't begin to describe how great they are. They've taken care of various insurance and doctor snafus for me.
  • I agree about Palma. They go the extra mile to help their customers. On more than one occasion they have ordered expensive medical paraphernalia on spec, without asking for payment or deposits in advance. They also deliver... they're a pleasure to deal with.
