moving to brooklyn
I'd really appreaciate some tips from all of you.
I'm moving to New York for the first time ever and am trying to pick a place in brooklyn to live. I'm leaning towards Park Slope, but dont' know if it's a good place for a single to live by herself. Is it all families?
Also, where is a good place to find apartments? Online anywhere? Or should I come in and hire a broker?

nah, not all families, a decent mix I'd say.
You should try craigslist.org first if you don't want to pay a broker (just specify no broker/no fee when searching.
