Need some quick 'n' dirty carpentry — Brooklynian

Need some quick 'n' dirty carpentry

Subject: Need some quick 'n' dirty carpentry

I need someone to build a long planter in my front yard, along my stoop. It's going to be painted, so I'm looking for someone who can do a competent job in a plain style in treated pine or the like. Not looking for someone who specializes in hand-hewn historically-accurate details lovingly rendered in salvaged quartersawn oak. Looking for, you guessed it, quick 'n' dirty. I've searched the archives, but haven't found any leads.

Anyone used anyone they can recommend? It'd be especially good if they had experience in outdoor wood construction.

  • I'm up for some fun with deck screws.

    What are the approximate measurements?

...this would be easiest to built on site.

Is this some kind of coded, thinly-veiled Casual Encounters-type deal? Or is my mind just in the gutter?
  • Jimmy-
There are lots of Casual Encounter type postings on Craigslist. Some of the non-amorous ones fall under "labor".

Sigh. You people are thick as a 2 x 4. Apparently, you're incapable of understanding simple metaphors. Let me help:

I need someone to [sexxxx me up], along my [hoo-hah]. It's going to be [shaved], so I'm looking for someone who can do a competent job in a [macho] style in [leather chaps] or the like. Not looking for someone who specializes in [kinky] historically-accurate [role-playing] lovingly rendered in [Victorian] [deerskin] [breeches]. Looking for, you guessed it, quick 'n' dirty. I've searched the archives, but haven't found any leads.

Anyone used anyone they can recommend? It'd be especially good if they had experience in outdoor "wood" "construction" […especially screwing, drilling, and nailing, if you know what I mean].

Now that we've cleared that up, I am also looking for a literal, actual carpenter to literally build me an actual planter alongside my actual, literal stoop. Actual measurements of the literal planter, in case you're curious, are to be about 128" L x 22" D x 16" H.
  • is that 128" cut or uncut? :-)

Jeez, you left out the most important info :safe:
  • Brook lyne. You made me laugh.
    No more to say.
  • I'd be interested in the second option:

You'll need someone else to help you with the first option.
  • Don't be a fool, wrap your tool. :afro:

    Well played.

Brooke, I apologize for derailing your thread. Couldn't help myself. Hope you find a carpenter.
