Taking forever for extermination fumes to go away — Brooklynian

Taking forever for extermination fumes to go away

The roach problem had become unbearable, so we had an exterminator come over and spray the finished basement level of our duplex yesterday @ 5pm. Nice guy, he showed me the canisters he was using of "Natural" spray, and said it would be safer around our 1 y.o baby.

Even after a whole night of 2 big fans blowing down there, the smell is still terrible, you can taste it in your mouth. I won't bring my daughter down there, which is frustrating on this rainy day as its where she plays with her toys and where we keep the tv.

Anyone know if this is normal? I don't remember the fumes ever lingering this long when an exterminator visited my smaller apartments.

  • My guess would be that it is a result of the extreme humidity, and the fumes will dissipate eventually.

If you are really that concerned, you could always call the exterminator and ask.
  • Do you mind telling us who the exterminator is?
  • i use absolute death pest control. their stuff is natural too. your apt smells like a mix between lavender, rosemary, and spearmint for a few days.
  • "absolute death"? seriously?
  • Absolute Death gave me a pretty cool umbrella as a gift.
