trapped cat? butler/st. john's
Subject: trapped cat? butler/st. john's
i got home from the airport last night at around 1am, and there was a cat meowing loudly in the airshaft between my building on st. john's and the next buildings over, on butler. i could see it last night, and it didn't appear trapped - it was moving around - but it's still meowing now (almost 1pm) and i can no longer see exactly where it is. but i live on the 5th floor, and it's loud! i don't know how to get to the poor thing. anyone have any suggestions? anyone live on the first floor of a building on butler who could go out there?Comments

Does the fire department still help trapped cats? Either way, call 311, they can refer you to the right agency.

Go find your super and see if you can find him together. Poor thing!!!

And please keep us posted as to what happens and whether you need more help!

it's about 12:45am, and the cat has just taken up the meowing again! guess i'll try to go over to butler in the morning, as he's on the other side of the fence from my building. is there anywhere nearby to take him that's not ACC? i know there are some cat-loving organizations in the neighborhood...

I do a bit of rock climbing so if you can't get access conventionally and need someone to make their way in there from above - let me know.

He must be starving in there. Call Sean Casey or contact Caseopele, she knows all of the rescue groups and can probably advise who to call.

Don't ignore the situation Christy, CALL SOMEONE!! Did you check with 311? Did you search google for animal rescue orgs? I mean, this has been going on for too long, if that cat is trapped and starving, you wont hear it's meows for long. -
I've been in touch with someone that lives on Butler by Sterling, their neighbor needs help trapping some ferals in their courtyard. Maybe it's one of them? PM me and maybe I can hook you up with the neighbor.
