And now, we interupt the sparkle shamrock festival for some traditional Irish story telling....
(apologies to long time readers, this story has been told here before)
About three years ago, an Irishman named Whynot was on Eastern Parkway on the night before the Brooklyn West Indian Day Parade. The street was filled with somewhat intoxicated party goers when the following conversation occured....
West Indian guy to whynot: "Hey, what you doing here? What Island you from?"
Whynot to West Indian guy: "Ireland."
Some other guy in crowd: "oh, snap"
...which led to the West Indian guy shaking his head, laughing and walking off.
Happy St. Patrick's Day! -
From reddit today:
After the first day of a world brewing convention in the states, the CEO's of various brewing organisations retire to the bar.
Bruce, the CEO of Fosters, shouts to the barman: "In 'Straiyla, we make the best beer in the world, so pour me a Fosters mate.
Bob, CEO of Budweiser calls out next: "In the States we brew the finest beer known to mankind and i make the king of them all. Gimme a Bud".
Hans steps up next: "In Germany we invented das beer. Give me ein Becks, der real King of beers."
Paddy, CEO of Guinness steps forward: "Barman give me a diet coke with ice and lemon please."
The others stare at him in stunned silence, amazement written over their faces. Eventually Bruce asks: "Are you not going to have a Guinness Pat?"
To which Paddy replies "Well, if you pussies aren't drinking, then neither am I". -
HAA!! Good one
Rant/Rave: I am soooooooo full I can't sleep. Mr&Mrs C are the best hosts a person can ever wish for. Thanks guys. XOXXOXOX happy Paddy's day! -

[obvious] RAVE: this weather
Rave: this weather+no classes or work today.
Rant: the glider on the deck lost some [tiny, necessary for sitting] parts in all of the winter wind. -
Rant: troublesome teen who lives behind us and his friends had a little drinking and bonfire party late last night in their yard.
Rant: they tossed the bottles (some broke) into our yard and used part of our fence for the bonfire! It is an old crappy fence I wish the LL would replace, but um, really?
Rave: I happen to have the name and phone number of the little one's parents.
Rave: We carefully place all the bottles and glass back in the yard through hole where the board was removed, so mom or dad will find them, since they will hopefully be out there before the kid ever even wakes up. -
Rant: downstairs neighbor babysitting overnight and baby woke me up at 12:30, 1:30 and 7:30 from my codeine coma.
Rant/Rave (mostly rave): I am on a gardening shopping spree than CANNOT BE STOPPED while in said coma. Since I can't really walk around and party, I am in the backyard planting like a crazy lady. I will never have to buy herbs again and tomato madness will commence in June -
Rant: Raccoon in my window at 1am again. They need to stop with this shit :batman:
-
RAVE: I GOT A BIKE! I GOT A BIKE! I GOT A BIKE! I GOT A BIKE! I GOT A BIKE!

Rant: clogged sewer line near our place means the basement here is now full of stinky water (came out of a sink in the basement)
Rant: waiting on the DEP to [hopefully] fix it! (The plumber getting middle of the night rates snaked about 50 feet out from the house and never got to the problem and said call the city).
Rant: no sleep and 4 serious brain-power-necessary research essays I planned to do today. Might have to ask for my first ever extension.
Rave: good LL who cares about the property -
Rave: getting a Crack Berry Curve!! With all the extras: Texting, Photo, Video and Internets!! Everything!

Rave: Much like the St. Patrick's day story I told you above, I am pleased to present to you:
The Passover Story
(no, not the one involving Egypt)
In this story, we have someone we will call "Rachel".
It is important to know that Rachel is 11 years old and has very protective parents; Parents that have never allowed her to have wine ...until tonight, Passover.
After cautiously lifting a glass of Manischewitz to her lips to take her first sip, she states:
"it's kinda like drinking a grape Pop Tart"
...to all of those who are sure that Rachel will grow up to be an excellent future food critic: Happy Passover! -
Rave: Sahadi's spicy hummus

Rave: Cheesy, debaucherous Jersey Shore gambling extravaganza beginning in 5........ 4............... 3.............2............... 1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rave: The scooter is being retreived from its upstate winter home this weekend.
Rant: There is slight chance it may rain on Sunday, meaning a rain cloud will follow me along the Taconic parkway, soaking me while Dude and Mrs. Whynot laugh at me from the rent-a-car.
Special "Work Edition" Rave: Today I taught one of the office clerks how to mail merge labels into Word from an Excel sheet. ...she got it!
We are now solidly in 1990, when one could merge lotus 1-2-3 into wp5.1! -
^ please make sure Dude and Mrs.W. take photos if the rain cloud does follow you all the way home. Especially if Dude laughs :sunny:
-
It is NOT going to rain on my birthday parade brunch on Sunday. Although pics of whynot getting rained on would be super.
-
Happy Sweet Sixteen Scarlett!!!
-
Thanks!!!
Howdy, Stranger!
