    1. Smiling Makes Us Attractive
We are drawn to people who smile. There is an attraction factor. We want to know a smiling person and figure out what is so good. Frowns, scowls and grimaces all push people away -- but a smile draws them in (avoid these smile aging habits to keep your smile looking great).

    2. Smiling Changes Our Mood
Next time you are feeling down, try putting on a smile. There's a good chance you mood will change for the better. Smiling can trick the body into helping you change your mood.

    3. Smiling Is Contagious
When someone is smiling they lighten up the room, change the moods of others, and make things happier. A smiling person brings happiness with them. Smile lots and you will draw people to you.

    4. Smiling Relieves Stress
Stress can really show up in our faces. Smiling helps to prevent us from looking tired, worn down, and overwhelmed. When you are stressed, take time to put on a smile. The stress should be reduced and you'll be better able to take action.

    5. Smiling Boosts Your Immune System
Smiling helps the immune system to work better. When you smile, immune function improves possibly because you are more relaxed. Prevent the flu and colds by smiling.

    6. Smiling Lowers Your Blood Pressure
When you smile, there is a measurable reduction in your blood pressure. Give it a try if you have a blood pressure monitor at home. Sit for a few minutes, take a reading. Then smile for a minute and take another reading while still smiling. Do you notice a difference?

    7. Smiling Releases Endorphins, Natural Pain Killers and Serotonin
Studies have shown that smiling releases endorphins, natural pain killers, and serotonin. Together these three make us feel good. Smiling is a natural drug.

    8. Smiling Lifts the Face and Makes You Look Younger
The muscles we use to smile lift the face, making a person appear younger. Don't go for a face lift, just try smiling your way through the day -- you'll look younger and feel better.

    9. Smiling Makes You Seem Successful
Smiling people appear more confident, are more likely to be promoted, and more likely to be approached. Put on a smile at meetings and appointments and people will react to you differently.

    10. Smiling Helps You Stay Positive
Try this test: Smile. Now try to think of something negative without losing the smile. It's hard. When we smile our body is sending the rest of us a message that "Life is Good!" Stay away from depression, stress and worry by smiling.

  • :sunny: Good Morning every body,

The sun is shinning a bit of a chill in the air but another great day for a short walk.
I'm not sure if it gets any better then this but thank God for all he has given me.

All the wonderful people he put me back in touch with again.

I often think of you guys while I am enjoying the out doors
  • Hi everyone!! I'm trying to stay motivated as well, have been walking one mile everyday or night, I feel so much better when I walk. Freddie, I'm sure you will agree that the sunshine feels great, I also love to hear the birds chirping. Every year I've watched a Hawk that flies around here but I haven't seen him yet this spring. One time, he flew right over my head and I screamed.

Welcome home Carol and good luck to Toniann on her softball game!!!
Debbie, they say to watch the headaches that linger, glad you went to the dr.
Anna, I started to watch DWTS but it was a little too boring for me last night and so I went to sleep instead!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I like Erin and the tall guy with Anna, forgot his name. I did tape it so I'm try to watch it tonight.

    Everyone, have a nice day!!!!!!!!!!

I really dont want to have to post this....but Terry got a phone call from
Helen while Terry was going for her stress test. I asked Patsy to call Helen
back and Helen's sister-in-law confirmed it that Helen's Husband Passed
away .....she is too upset to speak!

Helen just know you have all of us to help you get through this horrible
time in your life...... you can freely cry with us!

    All our Sorrow

    Love Your Park Slope Family
  • Debbie.....please dont stress the stress test! I hope its nothing
    but your allergies acting up!

Im sorry to all of you for not being on here more often....just alot going
on ....and cant get myself to laugh.

I used to take care of my Son-in-laws Grandmother and my Mom
when I quit my job.....because she lives right around the corner from
me .......well I was with her all this morning because she doesnt have
very long ....she also took a turn for the worse.

Freddy ....you are still my inspiration!
Reading your words today ....feels so good!
  • Oh dear- I'm so sorry to hear about Peter. Please let us know the details when you know.

Helen - my sympathies. Please let me know if I can do anything for you. Suzie's right - you'll never cry alone when you have all of us...

Deb - how are you feeling? I'm on bp medicine too - but I think I'm having the opposite effect - I'm lightheaded and dizzy (more so than normal). I'm thinking it's my allergies causing it. Do you go to Santo? I'm going next week. I keep saying it - this growin old aint' for sissy's.

    Hi everyone.

It's time to get ready to leave. Later.
  • Hi Karen ......I think we're all feeling the same way ....my next door neighbor
feels lightheaded and nautious.....I hope its all from the pollen from the trees
which is very high right now!

    Get home safe ......xoxo
