Week long parking — Brooklynian

Week long parking

Hi,

Does anybody have any tips/places to park for a week in park slope without moving the car for alternate side?

I am trying to avoid the expensive garages.

Thanks

  • There is Wednesday move only on 20th between 5th & 7th I think.
  • thanks, i am away for the week in may so i am not able to move it.
  • assuming there are no parking holidays that week, I would just take the ticket, it must be cheaper to pay the discounted ticket for one day vs parking in garage or lot for a week
  • Dont park it on 20th. We want our street cleaned.
  • Plenty of garages in and around the area. You'll have to pay anyway if your car gets a street ticket ...
  • But the ticket is only $45, that's way cheaper than a garage for a week
  • Yeah. "only" $45 covers being a douchebag, being a traffic hazard, getting the car in the way of street cleaning and so forth. And what if for whatever reason some law enforcement person comes up with the car gets towed? Add another couple hundred in fines and fees, plus carfare to the tow pound. Rather be safe than sorry.
  • Maybe park in a garage outside of Park Slope and have it be a bit cheaper -- there's a garage on St. John's between Classon and Franklin that is like $8 a day. My husband used to park there before selling his car and it was way cheap. Also it's 24hours, fully staffed, and you wouldn't be a douche for blocking street cleaning by just "taking the ticket" like some people suggested.
  • Why not pay a friend or neighbor to move it for you on AS days? I am sure somebody would do it for you for 20 bucks or so....

Second this. I watched somebody get both a ticket and a big sticker on my block this morning.
  • you may be able t park for a week on 5th avenue between 31 n 32 sts..
as long as they dont start repaving...
