What? An opening-weekend crowd reacted to the movie? In a movie theater? How is that unexpected?

While I totally agree on the the whole don't-bring-your-children-to-the-movies-hire-a-babysitter-you-cheap-bastards mentality (and also the put-your-f*cking-cellphone-away movement), I can't be with you when you complain that a crowd is reacting too much. If you didn't want that, you should've waited to see it the second or third weekend or a matinee.
That or don;t go see movies at the Court Street multiplex. -

This is pretty much what I've resigned myself to, unless it's been out forever and I know nobody will be there. -
I've had mixed experiences at the Court Street theater. With some movies, it's gone fine, but with others, I've had to switch seats because some of the other patrons were so goddamned rude and loud. The worst was when I went to see Hot Tub Time Machine. A few women brought their three year olds and another group of women had 5-6 young girls, around ages 9 or 10. It amazes me that adults will bring such young children to movies featuring frequent cursing, nudity, and sexual themes.
If you want to see a recently-released mainstream movie, try the one in Battery Park on a weeknight. It's usually empty and I've never seen the rude behavior that is par for the course at Court Street. -
I second Battery Park. Been a couple times on Saturday night and the crowd was small.

If you want a real old time talking to the screen and such and such, go to Linden on a Saturday night. Your best bet is to go there when a new Tyler Perry movie just opened! The audience is funnier than the movie. I haven't been there in a while, but I love my peoples!! The best time was when I went to Linden to see "I Am Legend" which I really wasn't impressed with. Neither were the two gray haired Black gentlemen sitting in front of me. At the end of the movie, with credits rolling, the theater was actually pretty silent, until one of the elderly guys yells out, "That was some bullsh*t!! I want my money back, sh*t. What kind of ending was that? Bullsh*t!" It was hil-a-ri-ous! Everybody laughed. As I said, I love my peoples! When I just want an average mainstream experience - which is most of the time - I go to BAM, IFC, or Kips Bay (for national releases).

Damn...sounds like Cinematic Titanic has nothing on those guys.
