I am looking for a place to rent in Brooklyn. I have specific needs and wants. I am looking for someone to work with that knows Brooklyn really well and cares a lot about finding the right the place for the right person.

I am not a broker.....can you tell me what your looking for? Most brokers will not invest too much time showing you places that meet your "specific needs". Especially since they will only get a 1 month fee out of the deal.
However, if you were looking for a very specific 3-5 million dollar brownstone...they will jump through hoops. -

Your post is much too vague. It doesn't mention price range, neighborhood, what your specifics are (pets, amenities, etc.).
