Any ideas on where to drop off clothes for donation? Since the place on Flatbush closed I can't seem to find anywhere else to drop off clothes. Please let me know if you have any ideas. Thanks!

  • There's a booth that takes them Saturday's at the GAP farmer's market.
  • There's a women's shelter in the old armory on 8th ave, around 13th street or so.
  • Just a suggestion...to call the places first. Also, in the spirit of charity, please make sure the clothing is gently used and possibly clean. Many people throw just about anything in the bags.
Also, with C.H.I.P.s ... they try to take what they can hold. For example during the cold months of the year, they are looking for coats, relatively new and in decent shape. Out church finds out what they need and then take collections through out the season and delivering periodically. There are also locations which are looking for onsies and twosies, etc., for children.
MANY churchs and spiritual institutions have information too. You don't need to belong just call or ask.

Lastly, sort out your clothes and put them in bags, hang the bags on your fence. Someone will definately take them....and may even fit your neighbors.
  • I dropped clothes off last week at Goodwill on Livingston between hoyt and bond (258 Livingston Street - (718) 923-9037). The one on Fulton was closed recently after a nearby fire.
