Lost Cat in Windsor Terrace — Brooklynian

Lost Cat in Windsor Terrace

Hi everyone,
Has anyone seen a lost cat in Windsor Terrace? Our cat, Violet, went out the back door the other night and hasn't turned up yet. She is small and almost entirely white, with a few spots on her forehead and a brownish tail. She's quite skittish, so may not let anyone pick her up. She was last seen near Fuller Pl./Howard Pl./Prospect Ave./Windsor Pl.
Any tips for me? Anyone seen her?
We love her so.
If you have any info, please email me at [email protected] or call my cell at 917-693-1900

  • Hi everyone,
I will definitely check out the cacc today.
I am hearing stories from people who say their cat left and returned days or weeks later. It's giving me hope.
Any idea where else I could post?
    Thanks,

  • I'd put signs on the neighbor hood poles, too (with pictures).

I'd also walk around the hood a lot trying to see if there's an area where people feed (sometimes feral) cats. Cats often check out areas where they see other cats (alleys, a house where they leave the food outside for their cat) to find a source of food/water.

Also, look in stairwells and other places where she might be hiding to feel safe.

Post signs in the local pet stores and vet locations too (WT Vet, 7th Ave, All For Paws on PPW).
  • Hi everyone,
I found her! She was in the basement of a neighboring house a few doors down. Thanks for all your help and concern. We are going to be extra careful now about making sure she stays in!

Maybe they let her down there on roach patrol!

Good to hear you found her, though - seems like happy endings in these situations are more the exception than the rule.

Awesome. I'm SO glad you found her! And I'm glad you're committed to keeping her inside. Not much you can do when a cat sneaks out the door, of course, but I get so sad and angry every time I see a lost cat post from people who let their cats go outdoors in NYC and then are shocked when they disappear. :(

(Not to derail this into yet another "But they LIKE to go outside!" "But they like being alive better!" argument...)
