Late night drumming near Nostrand

I live on Park Place near Nostrand and often hear drumming late at night, which sounds like it is coming from towards Sterling. It often goes late into the night. Tonight there is also singing. I've never been able to figure out where its coming from. I'm surprised at how long they go. Does anyone else hear it and know where its coming from? This has been going on for several years.

    Might be from the dance studio on the second floor at the corner of Nostrand and Sterling. I think they have some sort of capoeira class in the evenings.

    I like the drumming - its nice and not too loud given that I am a block away though I imagine those people closer to it might not appreciate it.

    Ah, Capoeira makes sense. This goes on to sometimes 2, 3, or 4 am, so I'm thinking its no longer the class. I guess I just need to go check out that studio/gym.

    Yep, I'lve ofen enjoyed hearing the drumming coming from the studio on the 2nd floor on the northwest corner of Sterling and Nosrand. Seems like a cool scene. Worth looking into.

    Capoeira is usally over 9:30 on Thursdays and if there's training on a Friday night I think it ends around the same time too. Drumming at 2, 3, or 4am? I don't know about that. I haven't been to the Thursday class or Friday practice but that seems way too late to be capoeira. There were some African drumming classes and practices/performances that may have gone late into the night, but I can't see them going that late.

    Just read the re-read the last post and saw that parkplace said it has been going on for years. Then it's definately not the capoeira class.

    Anyway come check out the capoeira class tomorrow. adults 12:30 pm - 2:30 pm and kids 11:30 am - 12:30pm. It's at the corner of Nostrand & Sterling place. 845 Sterling Place, 2nd floor. Check out the gym's website for info on their classes - www.resurgentfitness.com
