Stop salmoning

Guessing this means walking in groups, blocking people from walking the other direction?
Solution: Put on a bear suit and have at it. Good sport. -
Bear suits work for salmoning, but what about stroller dams?

Not sure, but at least the looks on the kids faces would be priceless. -
I believe "salmoning" is usually a biking term.
Since 7th Ave. is two-way I would imagine salmoning wouldn't be that big of a problem really. -
Yes it's a biking term, meaning riding against traffic. It happens on two way as well as one way streets (and shouldn't). I guess some people want to get a good look at the car that kills them. That's all well and good I suppose, but it puts those of us riding correctly in an awkward position - effectively it's like dodging a double parked truck.

I believe in the rules of the road--you stay to the right. When walking on the Prospect Park roadway in the proper direction I always stay against the right most line of the pedestrian path. If you're coming at me from the wrong way you best stay on your right toward the curb, otherwise we're playing chicken, MF . . . that goes for you baby carriage pushers, wheel chair riders, dog walkers and three abreasters also . . . You don't like then face the consequences.

I have no argument with the "ride on the right" rule, but I am curious... does anyone else remember being taught, perhaps in boy scouts, that you should always ride your bike facing car traffic, rather than in the same direction as car traffic?
In my case this would have been in the late 1950's or very early 60's. -
i was taught to ride with traffic. but not in boy scouts or in the 1950's.
ps, i thought this post was about the huge pile of sushi rolls and rice between two cars parallel parked on 1st very close to 7th. um, WTF? GROSS GROSS GROSS
