NY Class

Does anybody know who these people are? They were everywhere today around the library and farmer's market, handing out cards they wanted you to fill out to support banning horse drawn carriages in NYC. I asked the guy how he was paid - by the card, by the signature? He said he just loved the horses and was making like $4.00 an hour to do this. I took a card but told him I wasn't going to fill it out until I checked them out. He put his initials on the card, so he must be getting paid by the card.

Anyway, they have a site www.ny-class.org where they talk about how bad horse drawn carriages are and promoting the use of replica vintage cars.

So, what's the deal? Who's behind this group? Are they legit?
