you can try Accurate

I was planning on using them once, but ended up not needing to. I had heard good things, and they seemed pretty great, but I can't comment on their work . -
Try J&R Television.... I know they fix all kind of appliances (AC, fridge, etc.), not sure about dishwasher, but worth a call. Had them fix my LCD Tv and not only was it several hundred dollars less than I was expecting, they did the repair the same day! They came and picked up the tv, brought it to the shop to fix, and then returned 2 hours later ready to roll! All of the people I dealt with were super friendly, especially the repairman himself... he went above and beyond. He didn't have to, but he insisted on re-connecting all of the wires for me and he even helped me find more basic cable channels by changing a setting on my tv's menu. Definitely a mom and pop store, it has been in the neighborhood for at least 50 years (I was told). I have been waiting to give this place a great review, I hope you can use them!

I'd definitely check J&R, never actually had them fix anything but they are always very helpful

I've used Accurate and they are top notch!

We recently used Drimmers to replace broken glass in our oven door, and I was pretty happy with them. The first couple of places I called would not give me a price quote for a job where we knew the exact part to be replaced. Drimmers gave me the part and labor cost over the phone and the technician worked really fast, but carefully. Also, the repairman said it was a little easier than they expected and charged us slightly less for labor then quoted--maybe they do that to encourage good reviews

I just want to issue a strong caution about using Dial Appliance Service. They gave "me a price on the phone and once he arrived the price kept going up. He just "happened" to have a part in his truck to replace something. I was later told that replacing that part had nothing to do with the symptom I was experiencing. It ended up being twice what I was told on the phone. He had taken it apart when he gave me the extra price. The part was making a different sound than it had when he came in and I asked what happened. He said in his rich Brooklyneese, 'so now you're going to accuse me of breaking it?' When I compared the existing part with the one from the truck, they were not the same size. By then, it was too late. As with all repair people, I would caution you not to leave the repair person unattended in the room. You can stop them from dismantling the machine (and then charging you to put it back together) and from any other unexpected events. Lesson learned painfully...

We've used Dial several times and have not had that experience.
I'm sorry it happened to you.

We've got Dial coming Friday to work on a range; we didn't choose them, the appointment was made by and being paid for by the manufacturer. Keep that in mind when I put feedback here, it may change the way they handle things.
Edit: Never used J&R for repair, but they are indeed helpful and they have handled a couple of installations for us with good results.

J&R fixed some stuff for me. The actually charged me less than their estimate.

i didn't know drimmer's did repairs. i've bought appliances there, which they've installed, and since they're a longstanding business, i'd assume they'd do a good job.
i've used eddie’s modern appliance repair to repair a fridge, and they did a great job (after i'd tried several others who didn't) and were reasonable.
eddie's: 718-258-1050
to be avoided: super appliance repair.

You all realize this thread is a year old and brooklynpotter probably has fixed her dishwasher by now , right?
-
Probably a good thread for the person who resurrected it to post in. He/She wanted to warn people searching for appliance repair of one company. And the extra suggestions are now in the same thread as the others, it's all together for those in need
