1224 Prospect Ave

I used to live (60's & 70's) on vanderbilt street right across the street from the old american legion bulding, aka elks hall, and originally in the 50's a movie theater. It was on the corner of prospect ave and vanderbilt st.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/kencta/211143349/ I heard that the building got torn down in 2008. is it true? whats there now? does anyone have a recent pic of that corner? or pics of the houses across the street from it ( vanderbilt st )? I have not been back to brooklyn since the late 70's, but my heart is still there !

I live on that block a couple of houses away from the one you lived in. The elks club is no longer as you know. They are putting up a new building with condos, and some retail space.

thanks for the info, we lived and 519 vanderbilt street. have you lived on vanderbilt street long?
