handyman rec to put together my propane grill?

I'm with you about not touching the flammable stuff. When I moved in, there were two spare tanks in my yard.....I gave them away. I opted for a charcoal grill because I just don't like the POOF that happens when you start propane (and the charcoal tastes good).
I know that if you bring the tank to Lowes, you can get it refilled. I imagine you can do the same at Home Depot. -
Don't be afraid of the propane and propane accessories! You can do it, no worries. It is very very safe.
Attach hose from grill to nozzle on the tank. Screw on tight.
Turn nozzle 1/4 turn 'open'.
Light grill. Cook stuff.
Turn off grill, turn nozzle to 'close'.
Voila.
Now if you're talking about building the grill and aren't handy, sure hire someone. But that's pretty easy too! -
I can do it. What do you pay? You can get propane at Lowes.

You buy the tank full at Lowes (or similar). When it runs out, you simply bring the old one back (no matter how weather beaten) and for a lot less than you first paid, they swap it out for a fresh one.
Putting it together is probably more user-friendly than you'd expect. You need a good adjustable wrench and a screwdriver (at least) but the components are designed to assembled by the consumer and therefore difficult to make unsafe.
PS - Mechanic-type guys like to do that stuff - makes us feel necessary on a primal level. Ask around. Any gearheads in your hood? -
My handyman, Marlon, did this for us last year. The grill was completely unassembled, and arrived in a huge box. If that's your situation, call Marlon: 347-732-2246. He is honest, hardworking, reasonably priced, and has been to my house countless times. Tell him his "favorite Brooklyn customers" sent you. He'll know.
If all you need is someone to attach the propane to an already assembled grill, I agree with the above posters - its not hard to do yourself.
