What R ur thoughts about the gentrification of Crown Heights — Brooklynian

What R ur thoughts about the gentrification of Crown Heights

For the past year or so, a partner and I have been working on a documentary about the gentrification of Crown Heights. We've interviewed newcomers, long timers, business owners, and random people on the street inquiring about their opinions on the changes in the neighborhood. We're still looking for more folks to share their opinions.

What are your opinions about gentrification of the neighborhood? What is causing all of this name changing to begin with? Is it good? Bad? Who stands to benefit? What are the real borders of the neighborhood? What the heck is "Crow Hill"? What will the neighborhood look like in 5?

If you are interested in participating, just email us at [email protected] (Nostrand Park has been kind enough to help us promote the film) and let us know:

* Your affiliation with the neighborhood - Owner/renter/business
* How long you have lived in the neighborhood
* Your cross streets
* Your race
* One or two sentences about your thoughts on the neighborhood changes

We may reach out to you to film your thoughts. Also, we will have a screening at Five Myles art gallery on June 19th at 7:00 where we will be showing a preview of the film and soliciting feedback.

  • Never gonna happen.
  • Of course it will. Just look at the popularity of all the related threads on this site if you have any doubt.

    It's high time someone made a proper study of it, good idea.
