Local tailor for men's clothing?

Subject: Local tailor for men's clothing?

Hello neighbors,

Could someone recommend a good tailor on Flatbush/Vanderbilt/Washington for things like hemming pants, taking in suit jackets, etc.?

I know that a lot of the dry cleaning places do tailoring, but I wasn't sure if they were good. Any tips would be appreciated.

Thanks!

he's not always around in the morning but once you reach him he's good, reasonable and quick.
  • Agree on Tony. Good work at a good price and a nice guy to boot. His availability in the shop is an endless source of frustration for me (compounded by his haphazard phone-answering habits), but I keep going back. I find I have more luck catching him in the evening (6-9pm).
  • If you can’t get him and can make the trip you might try John Ro at Milano Custom Tailoring, 417 86th street between 4th and 5th Avenue, 718-238-0566. He saved the three suits and one sport jacket that were still worth saving (somewhat “in style” and not “worn”) after my doctor had me lose more than a few pounds. IMHO, great service and for me, worth the trip.
  • I love my Guinean friends on the east side of Flatbush between Prospect & St. Marks.
  • Thanks, everyone! Much appreciated.
