Mission Dolores Noise Community Board 6 meeting

Is it really noisier than Cattyshack was?
-
I lived in South Slope when Cattyshack was around, but I would imagine that Cattyshack (like every other bar) didn't allow their patrons to sit outside until closing every night like Mission Dolores does. I expected a certain amount of noise living so close to 4th Ave. The traffic noise is fine, but the noise from Mission Dolores is LOUD. I have to close all my windows and turn on the fan full blast and that still does not drown it out. There are a lot of people giving grief to those of us complaining about the noise from Mission Dolores. If those people would list their addresses, I would be happy to invite 20 of my friends to sit outside their windows drinking until 4AM every night.

No, that's why I didn't get an apartment next door to a bar with an outdoor space. Which Cattyshack was for years before Mission Dolores. It's called due diligence. -
Actually it has nothing to do with due diligence. In New York there are noise laws for bars that prohibit outdoor seating after 10pm. Mission Dolores is in violation.
-
JPZ2 you sound like a really fun person. We should go out for a drink sometime. Maybe after the Community Board meeting!

That's absurd. It is not a general rule in NYC that bars have to close their outdoor seating after 10P.
There may be some particular restrictions on Mission Dolores' liquor license though. Are there? -

I know just the place. -
it's the best new bar in park slope, hands down.
-
Let's all get together a ruin a really cool bar!
-
Correct me if I am wrong, but didn't Mission Delores open next door to what used to be Cattyshack? And Cattyshack, while it had an outdoor space, was never primarily outdoors - the way MD seems to be.
I am usually not sympathetic to people who move next door to a bar and complain about the noise, but it seems to me that if the noise is the result of a new bar set-up - then JPZ2 would have a legitimate beef. -

outdoor seating is not prohibited but music is not supposed to exceed 7Db above ambient levels from 10pm to 7am. -
Two bars and one's a sports bar? Time to move dude.
Howdy, Stranger!
