Yeah, it's just an experiment.

Some people don't give a fuck, or think this blows. Others get a chuckle when they seem someone acting like an ass get their come-uppance.

But in the case of those with little else to say or little other vocabulary than an extremely short list of certain expressions to go on the attack, they can suck my dick and lighten up a little bit. 8-[

But it is just a temporary experiment. Some folks really don't like it, and if that's the general sentiment then it may end as just that: a temporary experiment.

But this thread was a good idea, so folks should feel free to weigh in here.

I just added a poll to be quasi-scientific, so have at it.

What is this list you speak of? Banned words and their substitutes? (experiment): if I write fuck, will it show up as it did in your post? Not that I'm particularly fond of the word as an insult: I've always seen a fuck as a good thing!

Yeah, to explain further, it's just an automatic word replacement filter.

There is a limited list of words that are set to be replaced by specific other expressions. All other words are wide open.

I only set it for a few words that some use as deliberate insults or fightin' words, or words that some feel the need to spam into unrelated posts for their own, creepy-adolescent-nephew-with-a-shoe-mirror-like giggles.

I can provide the short list of affected words if you'd like.
