Wear your vest at Southpaw!!
He couldn't stay away.
A heavily armed former bar worker took a swing at a bouncer after he was turned away from the Park Slope saloon where he once worked, police said yesterday.
Yusuf Glover, 32, was wearing a bulletproof vest and carrying two guns when he tried to enter the Southpaw bar on Fifth Avenue near Sterling Place at 11:05 p.m. Saturday, cops said.

what a sensationailst headline, any other places you want to take a cheap shot at?
-
Well, it appears that the bouncer and police helped avert a pretty horrific mass-murder here, right smack dab in otherwise "safer-than-other-nabes" Park Slope itself.
What about it isn't sensational and worth a bit of irony or satire, after the initial shock and relief? -
Cheap shot? I see nothing wrong with this post and nothing but factual news. I find the title ironic too...
But wow, you wouldn't expect that happening at Southpaw, it's not a rowdy bar, hell, they do those damn "baby loves disco" parent days

I find it amusing that they called SouthPaw a "saloon," conjuring images of a guy walking in through swinging double doors with a pistol in each hand. But I guess a "hipster performance space" doesn't have the same ring to it, and this is the Post we're talking about.
I second Mamacita's second on the legit-ness of this post. IMHO. I was AT Southpaw last night, actually. Argh! -
Thanks for all the support, I was simply sharing a bit of news, people need to lighten up on here.

Scary stuff. Last time I was at Southpaw I saw a dude swing at another dude at the bar and then the second due grab his head and SLAM it into the bar itself - like something out of a movie. It was insane. Bouncers had him out in seconds and cops were there in less than a minute.
-
I love how the dude comes with 2 guns, is turned away, and comes back the next night to use his fist against the bouncer. D'OH.

Thanks for posting. I thought this board was for local info; surely this qualified!
