  • Congrats! Glad you were able to stay in the neighborhood!
  • there was one hiccup. at first, i was asked for first month's rent and a security deposit. then they said i didn't make enough money, so they asked for first, last, and security. i'll be poor for a while, but i'll be able to come up with it.

is this a standard move on the landlord's part?

A friend of mine went through the same thing after her divorce - credit was bad, only one income coming in and 2 children. She was not able to come up with 3 months rent so she paid for 2 months and paid a little more each month on her rent until she made up the last month.

Ha, the first girl in the group is a good friend of mine. Gorgeous too. But yea I'm gonna pass, I'm not even in the borough anymore lol.
  • When I first moved to Brooklyn I had to pay 1st, last, and security because I hadn't started work yet.
