does anyone know what's going on with the storefront on 7th? the one that burned down years ago, where to vegetable market was, and zuzu's petals? there's a fence up and apparently they're tearing down the building. what's coming? luxury condos, i hope.

  • i was told "a petco" or some other "petstore"

originally i thought ace supermarket was taking over that space, but i think i misunderstood...they are just renovating the space they are in and another business on the block told me the info about the petstore...

not sure i trust the petco thing, but would be interested if anyone else knows anything...
  • and this is apparently what it's going to look like as it was approved by landmarks:

originally it was to have a second story, but the developer abandoned those plans i suppose because of financing. you can see what it would have looked like here:

  • it seems small for a petco. i guess we'll see.
  • another pet store? a chain, no less? brilliant.
  • As always, I'll note that we could use another cel-phone joint.
  • I hope it's a nail salon! There's no nail salon at that precise address right now, and god knows it's too far to walk next door or wherever to find another one. Maybe a nail salon/cell phone store/bank with only ATM's and no actual people, ideally with a broken door that locks you in and a constant squealing sound that lasts for days and days. That would solve all our problems at once!

These are all outstanding suggestions; let me add that a realtor would also be a breath of fresh air.
  • lnelson and drano-
stop making out in the lobby. get a room.
  • I'm hoping it's a high-end pet BOUTIQUE.
  • Enough people! Everyone knows that this block needs a fair to middling quality mexican restaurant.
  • or one more bahn mi place.
