Any recs for fresh fish purveyors in Brooklyn Chinatown?

  • there are a ton on 8th ave in the 50s. You can also go to Hong Kong Supermarket on 8th/61st.

    I like Hong Kong Supermarket for the live fish or lobsters in the tanks. Sometimes the fish they have out on ice look less than fresh.
  • ^ I don't eat fish, so I can't attest to the freshness personally, but my mom really loved the fish she got from them, and the guy did a nice job cleaning it.

    There are so many places on 8th that it's hard to go wrong - if you don't like what you see, go to the next place
  • There are a number of fresh fish places about 57th St & 8th Ave. with all manner of sea creatures flipping, flapping & chilling out. I've seen the stock delivered in the monring around 10 AM in big tanks on flatbed trucks. They are definitely fresh! Take your pick.
