bike question
I'm back! I figured I'd ask here because I remember there being a lot of bike people on here when I was regularly perusing the forums last summer. I just got a bike and am trying to figure out a decent bike rack type situation for my apartment that lifts it off the ground but doesn't require me to drill into the walls of my rented place.
Any tips or ideas?
Also... are any impromptu bike rides still happening or is it too hot?

the board impromptu bike rides have grown less frequent.
....the reason is unclear. At their peak, we had a ride about once a week with 8 participants.

Get an over the door hook that you can hang the bike on.

Sadness. Well, I'm keeping an eye out for impromptu bike rides!

And... my ceiling has that "I've been patched a lot" looks to it, so thinking that's a bad idea. Wall would end up being better, I just am lacking a drill and drilling skills and knowing what part of my wall would handle a bike, etc. etc.stacey wrote: Get an over the door hook that you can hang the bike on.
Oooo. That has real potential! Hmmm.

they also have some that brace to the ceiling and floor via tension.
tension = no drilling -
embereye's enthusiasm is endearing

And yea I think an over the door deal would do the trick, though I'd imagine that would make a door difficult to open -
checkout bikenashbar and performance bikes online for rack options, they have tension mounted as well as free standing that can hold 1-4 bikes. Container Store also has a few options but I think they require drilling into the wall.

Subject: BIKE RACK
My friend Jeff builds a cool bike rack. His company is called 718 Made In Brooklyn. The web site doesn't have it up yet because it's a new addition. He was in the BKLYNDESIGNS show. Very cool stuff.

I have to say that is really cool if you have the wall space.
