Suggestions for Small Business Internet Provider?
Hello All,
I run a small 2 person business that has modest internet needs. Does anyone have any suggestions for a small business internet service provider? I'm not a huge fan of OOL, TW, or the other big ISPs but understand I may not have a choice.
We're close to the 4th ave and 9th st. R stop.
Thanks.

you're right, you dont have a choice.
Get whatever cable company you have there because the speeds are generally better.
If you are lucky, you will be in a DOCSIS 3.0 area which will make your speeds FIOS level -
Ace DSL is fantastic for small businesses.

I have several clients using Speakeasy T1's and some using Verizon DSL. In my experience Speakeasy has had great uptime and Verizon isn't too far behind.
If uptime and reliability are you concerns, then biz net from them would be best. If you want speed then go for TWC. Or you can do what a lot of my clients do and have TWC for office data and DSL or T1 as VoIP/Failover. -
Thanks for the ACE DSL suggestion, I've sent them an inquiry.
The bigger problem is that no one services the area we're in on 3rd ave. No verizon,no nycnet, no twc, no comcast, and OOL wants $80 per month for 1.5 down and 384 up, which is insane.
So, I'm still looking. -

Slopeska, do you know whether your clients pay full price for both redundant services, TWC + DSL? Or is there some kind of discount when one obtains the service only for failover purposes?

I recently had a nearly full-day, weekday TWC internet outage, and was thinking how useful it would be to have a fallback.
Thank you.
