So as part of a cookoff I received a billion containers of grits. They are sealed cardboard containers. I test recipied so much I kind of can't look at them. Where can I drop them off for a good cause?

NOTE: They are only open to offer lunch for those in need, so you'll need to drop off sometime before Noon. Otherwise they are closed by mid/late afternoon.

    or

The homeless women's shelter at the Park Slope Armory
    8th Ave between 14th and 15th streets
  • Ditto the Armory - they also take clothing and books (I donated 30+ paperbacks there 2 weeks ago)
  • food not bombs in bed stuy gives away groceries
  • The Armory takes food? That's super convenient for me. Thanks.

yes - dry or canned food. I didn't know that either until I saw somebody donating food before me when I was donating books.
  • However...

We had...like...70 chocolate cupcakes from Choice Market left over from an event and they were more than happy to pass them out when we arrived with them.

Made for a nice late-afternoon snack for everyone (including the staff).

So it's not always canned stuff. You might want to call ahead.
