Subject: Play me I'm yours

I have seen the piano that is part of "Play me I'm yours" artwork tour (http://www.streetpianos.com/) sitting at GAP and until I heard someone playing it yesterday thought the whole thing was pretty lame. It was actually kind of cool! Apparently there are pianos all over the city as part of this tour. Heard any good pianists?

  • I have a pianist friend who is coming to town to play the pianos.
  • Tuesday evening around 7:00 a twenty something kid was quite good. Playing some classical stuff, unfortunately the noise from the cars around GAP and an idling ambulance made it hard to hear...
  • Friday night around 11pm near the Astor Place subway entrance (the one closest to the cube), there was a guy who could play and bystanders joined in singing.
  • I work near Times Sq and have seen and heard some fab playing on the one at the intersection of 42nd st & Broadway. I think it's a great thing, and hope they keep some pianos around for a bit longer.
  • my girlfriend has been going out to the different pianos in the city and playing them...hell, i've even been able to play some too..i think it's a great project to at least bring out some creativity in so many people.
  • i'm surprise idle hand vandals haven't destroy them all yet.

there is alot of those punks walking around the city.
  • i stole the "no 'für elise', no 'chopsticks', no 'piano man'" signs
