Yes!!!!
Now i don't have to walk all the way to beacon's closet... or is it expensive? any one been? -
Stupid name for a thrift store or any store really.
-
not necessarily when you think that it is a store that is selling a product that was already loved by one person to (hopefully) be loved by another...
-
i was in there the other day. the selections are all in very good condition and range from banana republic to some of the lower-end fancy designers (e.g. tank tops i'm guessing a place like nordstrom would charge $160 for, at two lovers to more like $38.) overall the prices seemed very reasonable given the quality and brands. the merchandise could be a bit more coherent, but i guess that's part of the second-hand store bit. definitely aimed towards an older/more sophisticated crowd than beacon's.
and ditto to chaplin's mom, i think it's a good name for a second-hand store. -
Subject: two lovers
I was in there yesterday and I really loved it. Used clothes in good condition. The owner's taste is quite feminine, which I love, because mine is as well.
I like this a bit better than Beacon's - the clothes are a bit more sophisticated and you get less of a hipstery vibe. (Meaning, orange polyester dresses to be worn ironically.) The prices are also slightly higher, but still lower than in many secondhand stores.
I'm wondering if the name is a reference to the 2009 film Two Lovers, which took place in Brooklyn. -
I'm wondering if ladykc has any affiliation with the store...
-
No affiliation, I swear. I'm not getting any commissions. Just really liked the place when I went in.

I concur with the poster with a positive review. The place has the feel of a nice boutique, not a 2nd hand store with that weird smell. Nice selection (although it seems to skew to small sizes!) and the clothes are in very good condition. Not dirt cheap but definitely fair. And yes, unless you are looking for the hispter vintage look, for many this will be an improvement on the Beacon's Closet vibe.

is it as good as odd twin, cause i think they have the best stuff in the slope, hands down...
