Shots Fired - Park Place between Franklin and Classon
Around 11:30pm two shots were fired on Park Place between Franklin and Classon. I called it in, but by the time I was off the phone 5+ police cars were there. They walked around the block for maybe 5 minutes before leaving. 2 officers remained to talk to a large group of people who had been fighting moments before the police arrived. They then left a few minutes after that.
Anyone know anything? I am already furious with my landlord about some security issues he has still not taken care of, and this did not help me feel better about them. Did someone get hurt? 20 minutes after the shots, an ambulance arrived with lights flashing, but I didn't see anyone injured from my window nor see anyone going into it.
I hope everyone is alright and that this isn't an indicator as to how the rest of this holiday weekend will be.

you sure it wasn't fireworks? there were a ton going off around that time. i thought they were gunshots at first, but then i looked out my window and people were calm on the street.

Cops and ambulance were still there when I went to bed at 12:45. (over an hour after i heard the 2 pops)
I know fireworks are very common at this time of year, but it certainly didn't sound like them this time. -
I've been hearing a lot of fire works on the block in the last two weeks. Are you sure it wasn't that?
I did hear what I thought was a gun shot last weekend, but by boyfriend thought it was fireworks and we were in the same room. It's hard to tell. -
I am hoping -- I thought it was for a while too but the ambulence and cops stayed for over an hour....

Fireworks sound very different from gunshots.
Stay safe out there this weekend, folks. -
so, KWAK -- was this indeed fireworks? It really didn't sound like them, but nothing is being listed anywhere as shots fired either.

There were fireworks in North Slope... I'd assume there will be even more all weekend everywhere. I don't look forward to counting how many of these threads will show up all month... Just be safe people
