LOST CAT-- Franklin ave and prospect place

My cat went missing on the 4th of July. He is 3 years old and orange. He has stripes and some spots and is medium in size. He has a long body but a big belly, it almost looks as though he were pregnant, but infact he is a neutered male. His name is Fancy and i miss him dearly. Has anyone seem him? If so call 646.387.0308

There are pictures here on my craigslist post

  • Oh, he's a cutie! I hope he comes home. Please keep us posted. Knock on the neighbor's doors and ask them to look in their yards, stairwells, etc. and put flyers everywhere
  • Thank you! I put flyers up around my blocks, but need to put them up by the subway as well. I am trying to stay strong!
  • I'm globaling this. Keep us posted!
  • You ever thought your cat wants to be missing?

MOD NOTE: Playing nice is part of the rules MHA, taking a jab at someone's loss is not ok.
  • Oy, to be honest, I wasn't jabbing. I was being serious here... I had a cat. His name was Curious Cat; CC for short, I swear to you. He hated where he lived, and he ran away. It upset me dearly, but in retrospect he probably sought better pastures. Cats are mercurial beings. I see stray cats all the time. They seem to have wonderful lives. There is plenty food to consume, and they are free from restrictions.
  • MHA, I have to disagree with you about stray cats living wonderful lives. I do TNR (trap-neuter-return) for the feral cats on my block, the ones that manage to fit into my feral colonies do okay for themselves. They have food and shelter in the winter, and are relatively safe if they don't wander too far. Even so, one of my strays was killed by a car on Franklin Avenue last Labor Day weekend. Stray cats do not have a good life on the street, some asshole was making his dog attack and kill strays on Pacific a couple years ago. A month ago my friend found a dead cat that had recently given birth in a child's dollhouse on the corner of Pacific and Franklin.
  • I am sorry your cat went missing. I meant no ill by my comments mancatmissing.
  • I sent a PM as well, but just in case you didn't see it -

I don't know if your cat is still missing, but I just saw a very friendly orange tabby greeting everyone at the subway entrance at Franklin and Eastern Pwky - the one on the south side of Eastern, at the garden.
  • Subject: FANCY IS FOUND!!

We just found him next door in the basement of the apartment building. We hopped the fence into the neighbors yard and called his name and slowly started to hear him hesitantly mewing. and then we ran around to get down to the basement past someone who was promising us that he was not down there and then was utterly shocked when fancy slowly came out of hiding. He screamed as i wrangled him into my arms, so i'm not totally sure what trauma he went through. He must have heard as calling him in the backyard in previous days but was to afraid to answer. but he is slowly calming down and becoming normal again. Thank you everyone for your help and kind thoughts. I am ecstatic that i found him.
  • Yay! I'm so glad Fancy is home! Give him a little lecture, followed by keeeeeses and treats.
  • Great news! I'll unglobal now. Thanks for the follow-up.
  • Great! Saw a poster in the subway tonight and was looking as I walked home; )
