Scene: Grandpa’s Telecommunication Room
When: Summer 2050
Players: Grandpa, Grandson
Grandson: Hey Grandpa, is it true that in the olden days, back in 2010 you had to type keys to send a message?
Grandpa: Oh yes, we did not have voice recognition messages like we have now.
Grandson: And is it true that when you messaged someone, you did not see them instantly on your screen?
Grandfather: Some people had equipment that would do that but it was not common.
Grandson: How did you keep in touch with your friends?
Grandfather: Well, we had e-mail and we could take part in a blog.
Grandson: What the heck is a blog?
Grandfather: That was part of a web site where people of similar interests could post messages to all your fellow blog members at once.
Grandson: Did you or Grandma take part in a blog?
Grandfather: Oh yes. We were part of a blog entitled “Brooklyn Back When”. It was made up of people who grew up in Park Slope Brooklyn many years after many had moved to other parts of the country. This blog made it possible to keep in touch with old friends & neighbors. Some of them still lived in the old neighborhood. It also was a place to make new friends.
Grandson: What did you have to say to each other?
Grandfather: We were able to share each other’s memories as well as current happy & sad times. We heard of Births, Deaths, Graduations, operations, tradgedies, weddings, divorces, extreme weather, moves to other parts of the country, pictures from now and in the past of people and familiar places.
Grandson: Wow, sounds better then the news on the computer. Why did it stop?
Grandfather: Several reasons. New technology made it easier for people to keep in touch other ways. Some people got more interested in things like Facebook and other sites. Some people just lost interest.
Grandson: Maybe I could start something like that now and then the friends I have today could still keep in touch tomorrow.
Grandfather: Okay Grandson, I’ll help you set it up……
Is this what will be or what may be?????????? -

Hi guys........
Thanks Patsy and Suzie......it's been a rough few days to say the least. It's so hard for Kati to get up out of bed. The second time was the worst....she was unable to sit more than 10 minutes....it's so hard seeing her in so much pain. To top it off we drove in today and after we dropped Kati's boyfriend off on the way home the car started to smell like something was burning and there was smoke coming out of the back tire on the drivers side!!!! UGH always something..... -

Good Morning All
Had a wedding yesterday and I never got to say good night and sweet dreams.
This was some party weekend. I can not walk the pains in my knees but well worth it.
Went to 9 30 mass . New priest and he was great.
He said years ago some asked him and he could not answer..........(this question)
HOW DO YOU LOVE GOD??
He realized loving God was this ......Doing for people...even just a smile to someone, a word anything.
I love God (now i sound like a born again) that way and we all love God just by all the good words i and you all read on here. Just the caring of each other and our families.
The concerns we have for each of us on here and reading notes about Katie and looking for Paul and just caring is The Way Our blog Family Loves God. You don't have to be a church person just caring for others is what is important.
It was all about the Good Samaritan today and I thnk we on here are all Good Samaritans. Just reading what Warren writes and Fred's love for all of us makes us all Good Samaritans.
Just wanted to share...Hope I do not sound like a Billy Graham LOL -
