  • I like Ortine quite a bit .... Cornelius was pretty horrible one time for dinner and for drinks once it was fine.

How long ago did you go? They have a different chef than they used to, and the food has been significantly better.
  • I'd like to try it but I'm on a gluten-free, low salt diet at the moment. Do they have anything for us?
  • i walked by cornelius and they had $4 beers and $1 oysters for happy hour. sounds good to me.
  • @citymouse: I know Ortine has a gluten free pizza. Not sure about Cornelius but oysters are definitely gluten free!

@mr.met: Yes!! Cornelius' happy hour is awesome. $1 Oysters are killer.

@carnivore: I too wasn't thrilled last time I ate dinner at Cornelius but the new menu on the website looks great. Definitely going to go again soon! Any specific recommendations?
  • The oyster happy hour is all night Monday, and (I think) before 7 and after 10:30 on other weeknights. I haven't tried the new spring menu yet, except for the bar menu, but it all looks good. A few months ago they had a super-tender braised flatiron steak which was delicious. And the bacon mac and cheese is a great standby (One of these days, I want to have a mac and cheese crawl, which would definitely include this place and Woodwork). I know that one of the other regulars here really likes the chicken there too.
  • I am a HUGE fan of Cornelius. I went there for an Anniversary and was so so happily satisfied. I got the chicken dish that was unbelievably delicious! Yes, the entre's are pricey but I thought the portion was great for the money. I had a mixed drink which was also delicious and strong....word of advice: not a diner, more of a lavish place to eat. The decor is romantic and the place is very new! I give it 5 stars, especially for a bday or other important celebration.
  • Tonight they have an oyster tasting. Until 10pm, your first 3 oysters are free.

And the blue points are still $1 a piece.
  • Oooh, Ortine will be my next neighborhoody meal stop then :) Thank you!
  • What taps they got?
  • Finally ate here. Loved it.
  • Cornelius is teh awesome!

  • They have a GREAT happy hour. Mummm $1 oysters.......
