Or could it be a few parochial local aficionados arguing futilely for a vastly inferior product?
There is no way a DiFara pizza could be "vastly inferior" to some open faced clam sandwich from Connecticut. You must be barmy!

Gino's Pizza in Bay Shore, Long Island is the best pizza ever made. Done. End of discussion.

  • I miss Snooky's and the drunken fights that spilled out onto 7th Avenue on Friday and Saturday evenings. Quite entertaining.
  • Despite the best efforts of chefs like Jamie Oliver, Gordon Ramsay, and Fergus Henderson, British food still has a bad reputation internationally: a pan-European survey showed that people think London has the worst food of any major city in Europe. Rome was voted to have the best.

  • Haha, actually the only Gino's I know of is on Main Street in Islip (and it is pretty good). Is that the one you mean, or is there another one in Bay Shore?

Really I was just giving a shout-out to the 'hood. :)

Oh man - I've been caught. The Gino's I'm talking about was right on Main Street in Bay Shore, but the last time I was there was in 1986 or so. I have no idea if it is still there.
