I think theres a thread on this topic in the Prospect Heights forum
-
That's what slum kids do.
-
For some reason this made me instantly angry. I'm always extremely bothered by some people and their total lack of respect for other peoples property.
-
I had a guy whip out his shwank right in front of me and start pissin on a tree front of my moms house, he apologized and said he hadta go.
-
I'd rather a tree, than my building
It's the adult I find fault with not the child -
Yesterday at Atlantic terminal, I spotted a small child (about 3, as well) with his pants down and holding his wee wee. He had to go SO bad and the people he was with apparently ignored him until he started to take matters into his own hands (so to speak). A woman, apparently the one responsible for him, only then tried to find a bathroom. She never tried to pick his pants up, just dragged him around the terminal.

Couldn't you have whipped our your badge and expressed your agreement with this sentiment? -

Apparently his schwank is bigger than my badge -
Why does pee make some people so mad?
-
What's a ghetto/sagger type? I can't even imagine what you mean by that.

I took it to mean this:

It's NASTY! I don't even like it when dogs pee on my trees. People are so rude.....
-

Piss stinks!
not always -
I'd bet- most of you to be transplants. Not to sound offending, as its simply an observation.
"What does me not being originally from New York, have anything to do with common decency and respect for others property?"
Nothing.
But what it does affect, is your lack in understanding of urban life. A city which twenty years ago was a hell of a lot different- and which shaped people a hell of lot differently.
As for the lame who felt embarrassed (a new yorker i bet). Maybe you should get new friends. You know, some who aren't ghetto or who embarrass you.
Its people with little to nothing who usually carry this elitist outlook.
Stay classy folks.

For I am the urban Lorax, and I speak for the pee!

Because pee is something that, in America, is done in a bathroom?
Want people peeing all over your building?
What ind of a question is that? I personally have nothing against pee but there is a time and a place.
Tell me, is vomit OK as well?
Welcome to the new Amerika! -
why did you capitalize CHILD?
-

Can you further expound on public urination in urban America then and now?

You know exactly what the OP means, and the OP is justified in using that description. There's a huge difference between the type of person who would let their person pee on someone else's property and someone with the sense + respect + courtesy not to -

Careful Kid!
sounds like you expect people to think; to have some fundamental manners and sense of decency
Don't you see that as a bit sadistic? -
If Joe the Cop walked up on this adult and child and issued a summons to the adult, what would the reaction be on this site?
-
100% awesome.
If it were for a kid drawing chalk pictures on one's own stoop written up for graffiti you could bet that at least the PSP crowd would again be up in arms, if not others. That's going a bit overboard.
But this? Heck ya.
One late evening while coming back from Manhattan on the subway my son was about to burst. Thought I had it covered by having him go before we left, but oh well.
Most of the cafes and food places on Nostrand where we emerged were either closed or had no restrooms. Kid was seriously about to burst.
Pissing anywhere in public was not an option.
We finally found a hairdressing salon open late with a very friendly staff that totally understood and welcomed us in to take care of business.
I'm certain that they preferred us coming in rather than going on the sidewalk, gutter or on the side of a building out front.
An adult should be written up if they are caught doing it. Same for any adult accompanying a kid that lets the kid do it, perhaps with some discretion exercised if there were truly NO other available options within sight. (I dunno, that part's open for debate)
Just my opinion, anyway.
Howdy, Stranger!
