Sorry to bring the bad news but there are no outages in Brooklyn http://help.rr.com/hmslogic/network_status.aspx. What probably happened is some squirrels ate through the cable in your yard. Call TW support and schedule a home visit. Good Luck (you're gonna NEED IT)

God, squirrels used to chew through my cable ALL THE TIME. The repairmen couldn't believe it. I moved last winter and my new squirrels don't seem interested, mercifully.

Didn't they at some point offer a month of free cable if they missed an appointment?

Perhaps that was discontinued when reality set in that they routinely overbook and under-deliver, kind of like when Dominos pizza stopped their 30-minutes-or-its-free promotion or its pizza box dot redemption (free pizza for 10 dots) thing.

Full disclosure: Judge as ye will, but ^ the Dominos part above was when I lived in the boonies for a few years way back when and Dominos was the only pizza option available.
