  • Subject: Red Bamboo on Dekalb.

    vegan.

MoBay on Dekalb has vegetarian dishes, quite a few. Not vegan.
  • Don't know of any mostly vegan joints other than Red Bamboo on Adelphi and DeKalb. Not many choices for vegans :(

Please post if you find out any hidden treasures.
  • there's a chance ici on dekalb might have vegan dishes

that place is good! i had a very non-vegan day there... once. kind of like when i got really stoned (lasted 3 days(!!!)) and went to tom's diner, only i forgot the occasion for ici. oh, my ... anyway, i think ici is too french to be vegan, a rare case of not being vegan in a really good way.
  • I don't think these are secrets but on Dekalb there is Rice, Red Bamboo and Black Iris.
  • i may be letting out a well kept secret, but smooch on carlton at dekalb has not only the neighborhood's best coffees, but some yummy vegan stuff as well. their vegan muffins are stunning. they offer some vegan sandwiches too. not a huge place but great for breakfast or lunch. and a fun diverse group of people. i also managed to eat a completely vegan meal at pequena the other night, pretty much by accident (chips and salsa, guac and veg fajitas, no sour cream). i think the kiwi coconut margarita was vegan too. AWESOME food. you will find a lot of vegan food at african places (Kush is a favorite). I would be surprised if you could manage a vegan at Ici. The stuff is fresh, local and organic, but not vegan. Red Bamboo which was mentioned is entirely vegan. You can find that by pick and chose you can eat at most of the restaurants and do so quite well in the area.
  • I loooove Smooch!
  • thanks, esm!
  • Try V-Spot when you are in Park Slope. On 5th Ave, closer to Flatbush, not sure abou the cross streets.
Nice place, good vegan food. Creative too - but I had a bruschetta served on white baguette!!!! So - not perfect.
