cat sitting cost - ranges?

I am wondering what people pay for cat sitting. Last time a few years ago I had someone come they charged me $20 for one time visit (usually considered 1/2 hour) to do the usual - give food, change water, clean litter box, play with them a bit, make sure they are okay, etc. (I had also heard some people pay $15 per visit but I guess it depends on person, what and who you are comfortable with, # of cats, etc.) Wondering what the going rate is if you need 2x per day (just double that or maybe less since it's 2x with same person?). I believe rate went up based on # of cats also. (I know it works this way for dogs.) If the person has to give medication, would that be an extra fee? Thanks for your advice.

  • I think that most people charge $25 - $35 for twice a daily visits.
  • ours charges $35 for 2X visits, and we highly recommend her.
  • thank you! that's helpful.
  • We use Housebroken sitting service, and it's $15/visit. They are very reliable, and always leave detailed notes about their visit with the cats, which I love!

  • Wow.....I have a girl in my building who does all 3 of my kitties for....much less. (I think that's because she lives in the same building).

But- looks like she'd be a better deal than the others listed here so if you're still interested, PM me and I'll give you her info. I can vouch that she's a great person, very reliable, and genuinely loves animals.
  • We pay $40 for a twice a day visit. We have three cats one of which has significant health and eating issues.
